This course offers a comprehensive study of the rules and principles governing the use of evidence in legal proceedings, with a focus on trial advocacy and courtroom strategy. Students will learn what types of evidence are admissible, how evidence is presented, and the rationale behind the rules that protect fairness and reliability in judicial proceedings. Topics include relevance, character evidence, hearsay and its exceptions, witness testimony, expert evidence, privileges, and burdens of proof.
